To cultivate, promote and engage in the arts

RFAS Arts

Our Goals

The Raleigh Fine Arts Society seeks to encourage public appreciation, enthusiasm, support, and understanding of the arts in order to further the growth and enhance the quality of the arts in the community, as we have done since our founding in 1965.

We do this through:

  • Volunteering for performing arts organizations and in museums, galleries, historic houses;
  • Serving on arts boards in the city, county, and state; and
  • Sponsoring public lectures, exhibitions, and performances of art, literature, music, opera, and dance.

Every year the Raleigh Fine Arts Society conducts, promotes, assesses, and continually improves several major community projects, established to cultivate and enhance the arts.

Our community projects include:

  • Artists Exhibition, held annually since 1965 for college students and adults throughout North Carolina
  • Literary Contest, held annually since 1978 for high school students in Wake County
  • Choral Celebration, held annually since 1999 for elementary school students in Wake County

In addition, we strive to increase the RFAS Contribution and Endowment Funds to more fully fund our projects, and secure community grants as needed to ensure the success of our projects.
